Harp

harp, harpist, female harpist, female harpists, clare thwaites

Available for folk and classical improvisations, jams and performances…

Clare started playing the harp aged 8, when she saw angels playing golden harps in a book given to her by her godmother. She thought all harps were made of gold, which was very exciting for an 8 year old!

Clare plays at all sorts of functions ranging from dinner parties, special events, weddings, funerals, and recorded a studio session for Kirsty Hawkshaw, the voice behind dance act Opus 3, which was a mixture of Kirsty’s melodies and her own improvisation. She also used to go busking a lot in the summer in Cornwall, whilst learning!

Clare loves to improvise on the harp, which is a mixture of folk and classical, and variations on simple melodies as well as more complicated versions. In addition, she has a wide repertoire of classical and folk music, and is always open to requests and unusual and interesting bookings.
